  • PM Market Dip Coming?

Posted by Frugal on June 22nd, 2006

As I have said in my previous posts, I believe that either a quick W dip or a more scary dip cannot be ruled out. If such a dip does come along, anyone who is not on board should jump into the market.

The following two links show the same concerns, the first one on the general market, and the second one on the precious metal markets:

Obviously from today’s market, you can see that the whole market is not acting well. Overall it’s weak. Because of that, I think there is a good chance of another “panic” coming in the general market. However, precious metal market should uphold better than the general market, despite the fact that it will also go down.

Why is that? My guts tell me that it’s fairly obvious to many market participants that an important low in precious metal market has been established. Many of these people however did not get into the market at the low point. If another market dip comes along, these people will buy in and probably chase from the dipping point. Since market seldom fulfills the wish of majority, it will most likely complete its dip at a higher level than before to disappoint people who want to get in at a lower price. Maybe the precious metal market won’t even dip much to leave more people out of the boat, or that the market will dip so quickly just to shake out the last batch of weak hands, and bounce right back.

So my prediction for the market is that IF the general market breaks down lower:

    1. Possibly a lower low in the general market.
    2. Most likely a higher low in the precious metal market.

If you scan through all different sectors in the entire stock market, I think it’s fairly obvious that which ones still stay above the bull trends, and which ones don’t. Those that stay above the bull trends will one day become the leader of the market, or become the market of the market.
