I don’t think my job is one of the best. AllFinancialMatters and many other sites (sorry, my brain cannot pop out more names) always categorizes & also tabularized. My presentation format probably is below average, but I did read thru every submitted article to write the comments/summary.

The only thing that I did extra is the poll for the benefit of readers. I think the more help we bloggers give to the readers, the better carnivals will become, and the more traffics to the carnivals that we will all get.

We congratulate you for doing such a wonderful job with Carnival #63 of Personal Finance. Categorizing the posts and giving a brief description about each one was a great idea.

By the way, any carnivals or anyone needs help installing or enabling democracy plugin at their WordPress blog can email me. There are several lines of codes need to be changed to work like mine.

And having the poll will be some more work for you, if you will add one vote for each article. It took me 48 x 3 clicks just to add 1 vote for each article, and then I also added votes for my preferences. Haven’t found the way to put in the vote number directly. If you don’t add 1 vote per each, the initial voting result will be quite biased. You will see very high percentage numbers for the random articles that got voted first.

Not sure if it’s good or bad. This tends to make initial random winners even better, whether they’re better or not.

I think next time there should be a period of maybe 4 days for voting without displaying any results. Then after the initial period, the poll results can be viewed and continued to be voted too.

I think if when submitting the post, all bloggers
1. add the name of the category (selected from some pre-defined categories).
2. add a default summary sentence

that will help the host a lot.

On the summary sentence, the host can choose to use it or not, or edit it. And the sentence must be summary-only for the benefit of the host, and cannot be used for any tricky wordings for getting more click-thrus. This will prevent too creative “summary”. Any comments/summary for the article should be determined by the host.

I think there are plenty of good articles. That was the reason that I did not want to limit 1 vote per person. You can vote on as many good articles as you like.

Yeah, next time I will try to sort the results. I still need to learn my PHP coding to do that.

And sorry about making the numbering a little messy. But I think categories are very important information. Without even a category, I don’t know how anyone can possibly go through a 47 entries of PF carnival. It would be as good as nothing.

If you can tell me how easily, I will do it right away. Just got Democracy plugin to work recently on my site. And boy, PF carnival is getting so big that it’s taking many hours to do a good hosting. I am truly exhausted at this point.
