Yeah, I get all kinds of letters & phone calls from charities very frequently. I simply put the letters into trash cans, and decline EVERY request for money.

I only donate when I can, and when I'm convenient. I don't respond to any solicitations.

Considering that they try to do good, I don't get mad at their repetitive requests.

Last time I donated to the Salvation Army, I got solicitations coming for 6 months afterwards, from a number of charities.

This time, when I donated for malaria, like you suggested, I got this: "Look for our monthly electronic newsletter. We'll send you updates at the beginning of each month on issues and programs related to improving the lives of the world's children."

Did I ask for it? How dare they?

I am already oiling my shredder. I bet I'll receive some "newsletters" by snail mail, too.

I am sorry, but we are not "professional" donors. We give when we have, and we'd like to be left alone in between.
