  • My new anti-spamming protection for comments

Posted by Frugal on September 8th, 2006

My formal apology to reader John who lost the comments due to the stupid Captcha that I had. It should not happen again. I changed my anti-spam filter to a math question. It is always X + 1. I suppose everyone can add one. Just enter the right answer as numbers (not the number spelled in English). And I tested with wrong answers. You can back-page to recover everything that you have written.

By the way, if you haven’t noticed, you can check on the box to subscribe to the comments by email. Whenever anyone else or I reply to your comments, you will get an email so that you don’t need to come back to revisit the page. And you can easily unsubscribe from the email thread if you choose to. The only problem with this check box is that it is ALL the way at the end of the page. You often need to scroll down quite a lot to see this box. It’s unfortunate, but I haven’t figured out how to move that check box up.

Let me know if you have any problems with this. I know, the font for the question is quite small. But at least the chance of making a mistake will be quite small.
