Tim,

If you want to have free speech, you can simply start your own blogging site. No one ever prevents from you saying whatever on your own site. I will never prevent anyone out there bashing my site.

This is a private site as far as laws are concerned. If you can access it via public internet backbone, it does not mean that it is public.

It is like I have my rights of putting up outer decoration for my house, but the fact that you can see and read it for free, it does not mean that my house is public.

In fact, I can immediate disalbe your IP address, or any IP addresses that I choose. In that case, does it make my site more private than it already is?

Actually, I will turn off the comments for this post. The offensive comments were personal attacks, rather than comments that are more constructive like yours.

Again, I want to emphasize that when something is free for you, it does not mean that it is automatically yours or belongs to public. If you want to pay for the time and money that I need to devote to this site, I may consider it making the site "publically" owned. If not, the site is privately owned.

i'm new to this site and enjoy having a read through the articles. the fact is that your site is public because you placed it in the public forum and intend to profit from it. second, since i only came to this site, i have not idea what offense comments were deleted, and it is assuredly your prerogative to have deleted them, but you should also compare those actions to your "free" america sentiments you've expressed and the fears of censorship that you've shared. The power you wield on this site is not much different than the power you are fighting. there are two sides to the debate all the conflicts you've mentioned, and you've chosen to adhere to one which is admirable and your right. just know at the same time, they too can be construed offensive to those on the opposite court. It's a revolving argument.

the fact is that the US is the US just as any other state is its own state. every state does what is in its interests and the hell with the rest. the u.s. has evolved into the superpower it is and as such there are many who will want to see it widdled away...for lost glory, for past stature, for whatever reason. fortunately for the u.s., we have the ability to have these types of dialogues, because the vast majority of the world does not.

truth, justice, and love is a great concept, but there are plenty of people and states in the world who do not see the same light and will impinge and erode the best it/they can. just think that your goal of 1st million by 33 isn't being accomplished by companies, peoples, and countries living up to the ideals you have espoused. But we seem to draw a blind eye to these things.

just be cautious of wishing for something you do not really want. it's du jour to be anti-american these days, even among americans. makes absolutely no sense to me to be self-hateful. it doesn't do any good, as people who dislike americans have or will continue to do so. be proud to be an american if you are, and work the system to change if you think it should be changed.

Hello Frugal, just wanted to voice support for your entry regarding the need for peace. There are some obvious imbalances and injustices taking place. I mean Hitler's propaganda sold the Germans on WW2 right? The germans bought it, just the same way a lot of americans have bought bush's propaganda on imaginary threats from other nations. Some people actually have a hard time convincing themselves what it must feel like to be outside the US and face US aggression.

I hope in the near future we will see things settle down and hopefully the world will be a little less hostile. Good to know there are quite a few people who are voicing their calls for peace as seen by the protests in DC.

Pascal,
Thank you very much for the clarification. I am very happy to learn the new truth. "Regime" is different from "country" for sure, and the word map was not used.

Media is a dual-edge thing. The only way to get to the truth is thorough research.

Thanks again.

By the way, regardless of what Iranian president said, I'm in no position to judge him as a person, for the same reasoning. Everything here is solely my personal opinion.

Hello Frugal,

I very much agree with what you wrote. Regarding your last sentence "What kind of crazy @#$% BS is that, “wiping Israel out of the map”?" I don't think that the Iranian President is an angel however he is probably not as bad as many wants us to believe. What he actually said might be different than what was translated in the main media.
e.g. look here

Thanks, Digerati Life.

I don't claim to be right, nor can I ever be right on most of the matters. And there are always multiple angles to an issue.

But I must speak up, even at the cost of my site. It's far better to speak up now than later.

Hi Frugal,
I just want you to know that I've always enjoyed your posts, regardless of what topic it's on. I find your analysis very interesting, and though sometimes I may not agree on some points, I totally respect you as a writer and analyst. I also admire you for your candor and openness on so many subjects and also like reading about your opinions about finance and everything else. If only more of us can have the courage to share their thoughts the way you do. Great job! Count me in as one of your beloved readers :).

This is a personal finance blog, where you expect find personal opinions. It is a privately owned site, and if I could, I would not share my site with anyone who is not interested in wishing/making the world a better place. Why spending time writing here if I cannot influence the readers' thinking a little bit? It is everyone's duty to make the world a better place.

I did not invite you two. And certainly you are entitled to your own opinions, like I am entitled to mine.

Thanks to Jason for your encouragement.
