Larry,

I have some doubles too, and severals more for 50+%, but I guess one of my problems is that I don't take profits. Not sure if I don't have the time or the will/gut.

Obviously, since I didn't sell in Apr/May for my mining stocks, many of them have gone down, but still up quite a lot since my purchase.

I bought PTR in 2004 and stocked up now. Hope it's gonna be the same as the last years. Anyway, oil shares seem to go quite well recently, but I am also looking forward to a new rally of Internet stocks.

BEST FINANCIAL (EQUITIES):
1. Sold 50% of my mining stocks in the spring for a double (including options).
2. Got bailed out of TPTH on 8/15 buyout offer.
3. Bought AAUK on 7/17
4. Sold long calls on XOM mid-July (but way before the huge breakout)
5. Sold CHINA at $4.51 for a double (and it has doubled since)
6. Sold BLDP & FCEL on 4/24 & 4/19 for a double (thank you Cramer)
7. Sold BRCM on 4/3 for $45.35 after it split (still long some)
8. Sold KRY at $5.92on 4/7 after Cramer hype for a double (sold some month before at $3 for a double)
9. Sold HNAB at 9.24 on 2/27 for a double
10. Sold SPN at $26.03 (before it went to $32) for 6 points
11. Sold ISV for $1.16 as it doubled (then it went on to double again)
12. The mutual fund accounts all did very well and rebalancing worked fine. (GGT, LDF, OLA, LOR, SRQ, EWA, ZTR continued their gains after I sold)

I eyed on AKAM for an entire year, but didn't buy because I already have too much high-tech. I have several bad losses this year. My worst percentage loss was down by 70%, and at one point, it was down by 90%. That was my tuition paid for investing in gold junior.

I have another that was down more than 60% too, but came back a lot too.

I bought a couple of stocks close at their peak and have sustained some losses too.
