1st Million,

Thank you for blogging about this guy.

I've done my research on Ron Paul and my mind is made up. I intend to vote for him as president in 2008. I recognize that his libertarian views are not mainstream, but mainstream politics has largely failed to deal with budget deficits and the war in Iraq.

Thanks again for mentioning him.

It does not matter if you think he has no shot.If you like the guy and his liberty first views then you have to get up and register and vote for Ron Paul. At least take the little time out to do your part. I think he has a great shot for the nomination. I believe he has a great shot. I am willing to be record number of people are going to vote in this primary. Ron Paul is going to get the people who think there never are any candidates. If you like the guy make sure you do your part and he has a great shot.

I agree that his chance of winning is slim simply because he is so out of the mainstream politics. In any case, I want to support him, even if he doesn't become a presidential candidate.

The presidential election has become impossible for anyone independent enough to run. Being dependent on the party comes with all the liability.

The question is can his ideas influence the policies of whoever does get the nomination. That's the real role of people like him in the process. I'm hoping for Bloomberg to run and win.

Radical? I don't think he's radical. He's fiscally conservative and doesn't believe in preemptive warfare or nation building . . . those are supposed to be Republican principles. They may seem radical compared to the other jokers, but they are right in line with what Republican voters SHOULD be seeking.

With that said, there's no way he wins the nomination, and that really depresses me. He doesn't have the financial or media support to really make a charge at the heavily-backed frontrunners.

I like Ron Paul. There's not really anyone else in the field, for either party, that I feel like I can get behind.

Ron Paul is a very interesting idea. I think his ideas are very refreshing and reflect many of my own views. However, he appears to be too radical to recieve a party nominaton or the support of the general public.

It is possible that Ron may be the best candidate. But I just don't think he can win. McCain is a strong enough leader and Guiliani has enough puplic sentiment that either could possibly beat whomever the Democratic candidate is. I jsut don't think Ron Paul could beat hillary.

I hate to say this, but the sad truth is that this guy will never receive the Republican Party's nomination. It is precisely because he knows the truth about who's really controlling the country, the huge corporate mafia, the military-industrial complex, etc. that will prevent him from ever even getting close to the Presidency. He can't be bought out, that's the problem.. that's why when you turn on CNN, you don't see him even mentioned, even though I've seen online polls (on neutral sites such as msnbc) that showed him with 63% of the vote, with the 2nd, 3rd candidates being at 16-20%, and yet if you turn on the idiot box the guy doesn't even exist. He was American's only hope; sadly, I know that he won't even get anywhere close to the White House... he's against the New World Order mafia, he's a true American patriot... he'll never be nominated for that reason :(

The next President will be Hillary Clinton, mark my words.
